Programs & Routines
Structure your training, your way.
LiftHub is built around structured training. Programs should be your default because they unlock progression logic, smarter weight adjustments, and the full value of the app. Routines are there for the moments when following a full program is not practical.
Programs
Programs are the main event in LiftHub: complete training systems with progression built in.
Built for multi-week blocks with planned progression and repeatable structure.
Best for strength goals, hypertrophy phases, and training with a clear objective.
Where LiftHub's biggest advantages show up: GZCLP, progressive overload, deloads, and rep targets.
Routines
Routines are backup workout templates for the days when your main program is not practical.
Think of a routine as one fallback session, like a travel-day push workout when your usual program setup is not available.
Best when you need a substitute session because equipment, time, or gym access does not match your normal program.
Useful for travel, unusually busy days, or edge cases where staying close to your plan is better than skipping the session entirely.
Choose programs by default
If you can follow a structured plan, do that. A program makes it easier to stay consistent and see your progress over time, and that consistency is what drives most long-term results. It also gives you clearer progression and more guidance from the app.
Use routines as the fallback
Use routines when you cannot realistically run your main program, like travel days, hotel gyms, limited equipment, or one-off disruptions to your normal training week.
Use both intentionally
Programs are for your main training plan. Routines are for occasional substitute sessions when that plan is not practical.
LiftHub Recommendation
Follow a structured program whenever you can.
The core differentiator in LiftHub is structured progression. If you want the full benefit of features like GZCLP, progressive overload logic, deload management, and guided progression, programs should be your default. Routines should support your plan when needed, not replace it.
